Cell phones are such a necessary evil. Do you remember back when we actually picked up the phone to call a friend or family? Seems like a million years ago, right? Then we went from calling to texting. Now with social media so readily available, we can catch up with people just by looking at their Facebook or Instagram page. We find ourselves going down the rabbit hole and it turns into habit. It’s our automatic go to.
I JUST called my best friend. I haven’t heard from him in a few weeks. I hate that I have to find out what is going on with him and my other bff by looking at their social media pages. I have known these 2 friends for 38 and 27 years.
I then end up ignoring my family, the most important people in my life, because I’m too involved in what everyone else is doing on social media. I compare my life to theirs. I compare how my businesses are doing to my peers. I get depressed, I get judgy, jealous. YUCK!!! I just feel gross.
So, I challenge everyone to put their phones away. Shut off your notifications. Charge your phone in another room. Try to only look at your phone once or twice a day. Start living in the present. So what, you take less pictures. You can’t check in someplace. No one cares anyway. Go live your life.
Want to do the challenge with me?? Comment below and lets cheer each other on! I’d love to hear how you are doing with it.
